Today we are going to discuss in this article about good deeds which we can all do to make our Ramadan this year more spiritual.
Recite Quran Daily and Understand its Meaning: Ramadan
is the month of the Quran; it is the time when Allah Almighty revealed
this holy book as guidance for the whole of mankind. We should aim to
complete the entire Quran in these thirty days. We
should also try to understand the meaning of the Surahs by reading
their translation. If we read the Holy Quran with the understanding we
can implement it in our daily lives.
And whoever spends the night of Lailat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Sunan an-Nasai)
Give Charity: Muslims are encouraged to give extra charity during the blessed month of Ramadan apart from Zakat. Charity does not necessarily mean disown monetary means, even helping your parents or siblings to cook or donating your old clothes to the one who needs it more is also a part of the charity.
The satisfaction and happiness that you will feel once you have helped someone to ease their day are definitely indescribable. Even smiling at a stranger is also a form of charity. Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah Prophet (PBUH) said, “Every good deed is charity.”
Make Dua and Ask for Forgiveness: Ramadan is the time in which we should be supplicating to Allah Almighty more than ever. Allah (SWT) has promised to accept all the prayers and Dua of a believer in this sacred month. So, we should strive hard to make Dua and ask forgiveness from Almighty Allah as much as we can. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “In every day and every night, during the month of Ramadan, there are people to whom Allah grants freedom from the Fire, and there is for every Muslim a supplication which he can make and will be granted.” (Ibn Majah)
Perform Obligatory Prayers: Those who do not perform obligatory prayers regularly in normal days can start offering in the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the best time for the fresh beginning and commitment to start offering five times prayers regularly. Many Muslims who did not pray regularly started praying in Ramadan and kept practising it ever since.
Provide food for breaking the fast: Providing food is an easy way to receive more blessings during this blessed month while increasing our spirituality. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whoever provides food for breaking of the fast for a fasting person receives the reward of the fasting person, without the reward of the fasting person being reduced in any way.” (Tirmidhi)
Standing in prayer for Lailat ul Qadar: The rewards from prayers of this night is equivalent to a thousand months. This is a great opportunity to get closer to Allah Almighty and build up spirituality. In the holy Quran Allah (SWT) says: “Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.” (Quran, 97:3)
May
Almighty Allah make this Ramadan a pledge in our heart to reconsider
our relationship with Allah and make it a stronger one. Ameen!
